Waxing is a temporary process of hair removal and causes pain when the strip is removed from the skin. Although the pain is short-lived, many people feel the discomfort. However, it is possible to reduce pain during waxing.

Waxing can be made less painful if you do it properly. Waxing shouldn’t be done against the direction of hair growth because it disturbs the hair follicles and makes them grow in different directions. When hair are scattered in different directions, it makes the hair removal process difficult, irrespective of the hair remover product or method you use.

You can feel the pain when you are waxing for the first time because hair follicles are strongest at that time. The pain can be felt more if the hairs are thick or coarse. However, you can reduce the pain during waxing if you take few precautions.

Use a body scrub

It’s important for you to scrub your skin before or after waxing, as it helps remove dead cells in the skin pores and hair follicles. You can even take a warm bath before using any hair remover product on your body. It makes the hair removal process less painful.

Avoid waxing sensitive parts

Waxing can be extremely painful for some body parts. You should avoid the use of hair removers or waxing in your eyebrows, breasts and male genitals. Also, avoid waxing on skin which is affected with sun-burn, moles, warts, pimples and cuts.

Learn to wax properly

You should learn the waxing method for hair removal to make it less painful. Be it bikini waxing, leg waxing, arm waxing, back waxing, chest waxing or entire body waxing, you should know how to wax. If done improperly, waxing can cause some undesirable side effects such as the growth of ingrown hair, bumps, or minor bleeding.
